The Phantom of the Opera - Showcase

North's production of The Phantom of the Opera was the 2011 Showcase Musical at the Wisconsin High School Theatre Festival, held at UW-Whitewater. It takes a vast amount of planning and teamwork to bring a fully staged musical like Phantom halfway across the state, 8 months after the original production. A few parts had to be re-cast; several students, such as Phantom and Raoul, flipped parts for the two shows; everyone had to brush up on the music, lines, dancing, and blocking; the set had to be rebuilt in order to fit in the trucks and also to take advantage of the new space; 175 students had to be transported and housed; and an army of parents traveled to the site early to prepare the stage.
